CARING FOR HANDMADE JEWELRY
All our jewelry is made with attention to detail and to be enjoyed for years to come.
To ensure that your jewelry can be enjoyed and last a lifetime, we have some basic steps you can take to ensure
your jewelry stays in the same condition as the day you received it.
With sterling silver, the more often you wear it, the better protected it becomes. The oils from our skin will add a layer of protection to the piece and help protect it from tarnishing. If your sterling silver pieces start to look dull or tarnished, a silver polishing cloth can restore it's shine and luster.
A majority of our jewelry is made with 14k gold fill metals. The process of pressure bonding gold filled metal makes it tarnish and chip resistant if properly cleaned and maintained. Avoid exposing gold filled jewelry to water, oils, perfumes or harsh chemicals. Do not store your pieces in the bathroom or an area with a lot of humidity. If possible, store your jewelry in an airtight container away from other metals as this may cause them to tarnish. Clean with mild soap and water, rinse well and pat dry with a soft, non-abrasive cloth. You can use a chemical free jewelry polishing cloth to restore shine and luster.
PEARLS & GEMSTONES
Cultured pearls and gemstone jewelry should always be put on after applying makeup, sunscreen, or perfumes. To clean pearl or gemstone jewelry, use a mild soap and warm water and rinse well. Pat your pieces dry with a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Any friction with hard metals may chip or abrade your pearls and gemstones, so be sure to lay or hang your jewelry with care and away from materials that may harm your pieces.
Leather should never be exposed to water, harsh chemicals, or perfumes. Be sure to remove your leather jewelry prior to showering or swimming and put on after any perfumes, lotions or creams have dried fully. Storing your leather wrap bracelets wrapped will keep their shape.
